When you are anxious about everything
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”
Philippians 4:6 · ESV
Father, I bring You the things I keep turning over at night. The meeting I am dreading, the money that does not stretch, the answer that has not come. You told me not to be anxious about anything, and You did not say it lightly. So I am doing what You asked. Here is what I need, plainly, without dressing it up. Here is what I am afraid of. And here is my thanks, because You have carried me through worse than this, and You have not changed. Take the weight I was never built to hold. Let Your peace stand guard over my heart and my mind today, especially in the hours when I cannot see how this works out. Amen.
One step: Write down the three things you are most anxious about, one sentence each. Pray through the list out loud. If one of them has a next step you can take today, take it. The rest you have handed over, so leave the list alone until tomorrow.
