When nobody is watching your work

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you.”

1 Peter 5:6 · ESV

Father, I did the work and nobody noticed. The credit went somewhere else, the promotion went to someone else, and I am tired of being invisible. You say to humble myself under Your hand and let You do the lifting at the proper time. That is hard when I want the lifting now. I choose it anyway. Keep my work faithful while it is hidden, keep my heart from going sour, and let the timing be Yours. Amen.

One step: Pick one task this week and do it thoroughly, without mentioning it to anyone. Let it stay between you and God.
