When you are counting what is missing

“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.”

Psalm 23:1-2 · ESV

Lord, You are my shepherd, and I have been living like an orphan. I count what is missing and forget what You have already put in my hands. You make me lie down, because I will not do it on my own. You lead me to still water, because I keep drinking from the noise. Lead me there today. Give me eyes for what I have, trust for what I lack, and the rest that comes from being cared for. Amen.
