When the water is rising

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you.”

Isaiah 43:2 · ESV

Lord, the water is up to my chest and still rising. Deadlines, bills, the things I have not told anyone yet. You did not promise I would stay dry. You promised to be with me in the river. So be with me here. Keep my head above it. Show me the one thing to do next, because I cannot see the far bank from where I stand. I will not be overwhelmed, not because I am strong, but because You are here. Amen.
