When compromise would be easier

God, make me the same person when no one is watching. Keep me from shortcuts that cost my soul, from silence that protects comfort, and from ambition that makes excuses. Give me courage to tell the truth, own my mistakes, and do clean work even when dirty work would move faster. Let my reputation be built slowly on faithfulness. Amen.
