Giving thanks in a hard year

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 · ESV

Father, this year did not go how I planned, and gratitude does not come easily right now. But You were here through all of it. Thank You for what held: the people, the provision, the mornings I did not think I would get through. Help me give thanks in these circumstances, even before I can give thanks for them. Amen.
