Advent, week two: peace

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”

John 14:27 · ESV

Jesus, the world's peace depends on the offer coming through and the numbers working out. Yours does not. Give me that peace this week, the kind that holds when the inbox is empty and the bills are not. Settle my heart while I wait, and let me be a calm presence for someone else. Amen.
