Advent, week one: hope

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”

God of hope, the year is ending and some of my hopes did not make it. Fill me anyway. Not with optimism I have to manufacture, but with hope that comes from You. Let it spill into joy and peace while I wait, and let people notice it in me this season. Amen.
